Volunteer
We are currently seeking volunteers for the following events:
- International Day of Prayer – June 3rd
- Familypalooza – June 9th
- Golf Scramble at Rock Creek Country Club July 13
- Art Show July 14th & Aug 18 - Artists for Children Art Show & Sale to benefit children
INVITERS: As a member of a team walk the park and sidewalks around the Beaverton Farmers Market and offer printed invitations to people walking to and from the market. The invitations are a discount coupon to our cafe inside of the Bethel Congregational Church on SW 6th and Watson (located one block from the Farmers Market).
The team will be 2 to 6 people – team members can pair up in twos so different areas can be covered.
We need people out inviting from 8:00 – 1:15PM – we will divide the time into shifts. but people can volunteer for the whole time, if they like. We will have red aprons and name tags for inviters to wear.
MONITORS: Be available during the show:
- in the aisles to greet people, answer questions – or find answers – no one knows everything.
- write up sales slips when artists need to take breaks,
- help the customer with purchases to customers cars – if a customer parks a distance from the church, he/she can bring the car to the door on Watson – the monitor will wait the purchases on the sidewalk.
Pay- table staff – There is a three copy sales slip procedure – we have used it for years – it works well. We will be using phones to process charge cards – we will teach you how, if you have not done it before.
Kitchen – Help prep and serve turkey wraps, yogurt parfaits, coffee, etc. Help clean kitchen prior and after the show – it is routine cleaning. People pay for the food at the pay table – their discount ticket will be stamped paid. There will be no money taken by kitchen people. Kitchen team members will take direction from the person in charge – this person holds a State of Oregon food handler card and is responsible for the correct handling of food sold to the public. Safe handling is very simple – all about hand washing and temperature. There is a routine. It is easy.
Set up/take down – Friday night set up 3 – 8pm, show take down 1:30 – 3pm Saturday.
Persformer: In the Cafe area we have performance opportunities during the show: music by instrument(s) and voice, readings, skits and mini-plays are welcome.
Interested volunteers – contact Kathy Lane at 503-644-2339 (office) or email rlane17@juno.com.
