Water Well Project Kenya Good Samaritan Ministries Portland Oregon

Water Well Project Completed in Uranga, Kenya September 21, 2011

In this hot, humid climate, a severe drought in Urgana, Kenya, threates the lives of many people.  Water was being drawn from very far away, and water was far to expensive to buy for the poor people of Uranga.  In some parts of the country, people died with their herds of cattle as there was no water to serve both the people and the animals.  The situation is life and death during the drought.

The Lord has finally answered the prayers of Uranga community by providing clean water with a new deep well.  The piping, water kisok and chamber house are now complete and the testing has already been done.  Water came out through the pipes at the water kiosk and we saw relief in the eyes of the people.  Hallelujah!

The power company has already fixed the cables to the power house and we are waiting for them to bring the water regulating meter soon.  The people of Urgana, Kenya are very grateful to God, Good Samaritan Ministries, Micro Empowerment Fund (MEF), and partner organization Korean Food for the Hungry International, for this blessing.  “Life in Uranga will never be the same again, ” says James Opiyo, Kenya National Director.
