The Prayers of the Righteous
Heavy on my heart today are the lives of all of the Samaritans around the world. We are many, but the work is much bigger and the needs greater than we can ever hope to fix. Every day we hear more reports of war, famine and need from the faithful Samaritans who serve their communities in Burundi, Congo, and the Middle East. It can be overwhelming to think of all that needs to breakthrough for peace in these war-torn places.
Thank God for the prayers of the righteous.
The scriptures remind us to pray for one another because, as the book of James says, “…the effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.” (James 5:16) This “availeth much”, what does it mean? How much do prayers avail? One thing that I know to be true is this: if God doesn’t put a limit on something in scripture, then neither should we. I believe that the prayers of Good Samaritan partners all over the world are in the process of availing much in the Spirit in all of the lands! Thank you to all of the prayer warriors who continue to uphold us in faith.
