Attending Groups & Classes

Here is some key information about attending groups and classes:

Attendance at a group or class is offered on a donation-basis (suggested donations are included) unless otherwise indicated. No-one will ever be turned away from any class based on an inability to pay.

All groups and classes are held at the Beaverton Headquarters office, unless otherwise indicated. Office address: 7929 SW Cirrus Drive, Bldg. 23, Beaverton, OR 97008

Registration is helpful but not mandatory for most classes. If registration is required, it will be indicated in the description, otherwise, it will be listed as optional and we invite you to drop-in.

Healing Miracles Samaritan Training

Offered once per month on Monday’s (September 12, October 3rd, November 7th, December 5th only) from 6:30-8:30pm PST

Experience the healing miracles of Jesus in a new way. Offered in-person, and via Zoom. Taught by Elsa Jane.

*This class is open to the public, but is also offered as part of our Level 1 Counselor Training.*

There is a suggested donation amount of $5.00/per person/per class.

ANGER MANAGEMENT TUESDAY’S 5:30-7pm PST

Tuesdays, 5:30pm – 7pm Open group for men & women to learn anger management skills. Court mandated and DHS clients welcome. Led by Teresa Stroup.

LIFE GIVING GROUP – Wednesday’s 10:30am – Noon PST

Wednesdays, 10:30am – noon Join us for significant sharing and learning together, which is important for our personal development. Children, men and women are welcome. There is a potluck lunch & a meeting of the International Education (IE) Satellite Support Team at noon. Led by Laura Fribbs.

Suggested Donation: $5.00 and a food or beverage contribution if you plan to stay for the International Education Satellite Meeting.

WEDNESDAY NIGHT MEN’S GROUP – Wednesday’s 6:30-8:30pm PST

Wednesdays, 6:30pm8:30pm God is raising up a generation of Godly men in this hour! Come join us as we meet each Wednesday evening to fellowship, support one another, grow in community, and have our faith in Jesus renewed and strengthened. Led by Lance Hallberg.

DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy) CLASSES – Thursday’s via Zoom 10-11am and 6-7pm PST

Learn how to empower yourself and others with Kingdom teaching that is life changing and interactive. All are invited to attend; counselors, teachers, and group leaders. The content taught is determined when a student starts, and is spread between three different units: Distress Tolerance, Interpersonal Effectiveness and Emotional Regulation. Each unit is two months.

Emotional Regulation is during February, March and August, September. Interpersonal Effectiveness is during June, July, December, and January. Distress Tolerance is during April, May, October and November.

Thursday Classes:

10:00am – 11am PST ON ZOOM, taught by Richard Mann

6:00pm – 7:00pm PST ON ZOOM, taught by Richard Mann.

DRUG and ALCOHOL RECOVERY SUPPORT GROUP – Friday’s 10am-12pm PST

Professional, evidence-based group therapy for those seeking freedom from drug and alcohol addiction. Good Samaritan Ministries is committed to providing a safe, and confidential space where those struggling with substance abuse can communicate their thoughts and feelings, connect with others, and gain a deeper understanding of behaviors and addiction.

To enroll in this class, you will need to complete an assessment with one of our drug and alcohol counselors, please call 503-644-2339 or click below to inquire.

Bible Teacher Training

3rd Saturday of every other month from 9am-Noon

January 15th, March 19th, May 21st, July 16th, September 24th, November 19th.

Lance is training people to teach the Bible. All ages are welcome & new people are encouraged to attend every other month on the third Saturday of the month (September dates have been adjusted to not conflict with the GSM Treasure Sale). Learn from Lance & others who teach to inspire action! This year will be a study on the New Testament.
